Observing Nature Through Photography
All of the photos in this website were taken by me in the forests, fields, wetlands, and gardens of Distant Hill. I have found no better way of connecting to the natural world than by looking through my camera's lens. There is another world, right in front of us, that we often overlook. Photography is a tool that taught me to observe that world more closely, and to learn more about what I see.
In the 'Life on Distant Hill' photo blog, I have researched some of the subject matter of my photos, and I share what I have learned. I also have hundreds of photos with descriptions posted in my Flickr Photo Albums. The images are separated into categories from Amphibians to the Wetlands of Distant Hill.
I hope my photos inspire you to take a closer look at your immediate surroundings and to cultivate your own connection to the natural world.
